Put the Whip Away
Posted on Mar 23 2001 under Lyrics, Poems & Feelings
Jockey sitting pretty upon his horse
Wants to win the race
Of course
Pushing the beast harder
On with every step
Jockey & horse in rhythm
Working as one
What fun
So now we near the end of the race
Horses & jockeys picking up the pace
Now show the disgrace
Out comes the whip
Stinging down to make him go quick
Beaten to go faster
Advantage over another
Belittled to the role of slave
Made 2nd rate
Beaten in a race they hate
Makes me wonder when if ever
We will wake to see
There’s much more that’s important
Than the wants
The welfare of just you & me
